How do you use Apple Reminders

I make use of Apple Reminders all the time and find it such a useful feature. On our Tech Clinic we will be taking our seniors through how to build reminders into their daily life. As we get older we do tend to forget things and rather than worry about forgetting to do something, why not use your iPhone to remind you.

My partner Joan and I use reminders all the time and here are some we share.

  • Shopping List - we have set up a shared shopping list that groups items into categories. We both use siri to add items to our list and if we add, milk and eggs it will place them in the category Dairy, Eggs & Cheese. When we head to the supermarket we shop from our phones and as we add items to our trolly we click on done and can see the list reducing.
  • TV Guide - we have so much to choose from with access to all the main streaming services. When we read a review of a movie or series that sounds good, I add it to our TV Guide reminders list. Wimbledon has been dominating our TV watching but in this late stage of the competition there are less matches to watch. So a few nights ago, we looked at our list and saw Nine Perfect Strangers was available on Prime. We had not watched series 1, and we did and enjoyed it a lot.
  • Things To Do - we also list all the things we want to do on days out, which could be visiting National Trust properties or an immersive art show in London. We list the item together with a web link to the event e.g. Arundel Castle Tulip Festival
In addition I have a To Do List, a Holiday Check List which is so useful, plus a few other areas.

Here is Rich Browlin explaining how to use Apple Reminders.
